Furniture from Asia is aesthetically diverse due to cultural differences, uses, and mediums. Chinese furniture can be elaborately carved and guilded with gold or may be extremely simple in design.  Japanese tansus (i.e., chests) were typically used in every room in a Japanese house as well as under staircases to offer plenty of storage in smaller homes. Tansus are usually beautifully simple with the occasionally elaborate ironwork. Colonial pieces can still be found in many Asian countries that were occupied in the 19th century. Furthermore, many countries continued to manufacture furniture for export from the 1940's on.  Sometimes art deco style, old radio cabinets and safes from Holland show up in our travels. We carry a large selection of furnishings that we find while traveling overseas. A few items like dining chairs, coffee tables, teak dining tables, and outdoor teak wood furniture are manufactured for specifically for Home Asian Antiques.
